Mount Washington Observatory’s Weather Discovery Center


The Mount Washington Observatory Weather Discovery Center is an interactive science museum that brings the wonder of the atmosphere right to your fingertips! Explore the science of climate and weather through fun, interactive exhibits like their air cannon, flow tank and wind room. Plus, meet and interact with the weather observers living and working in the summit weather station through a twice daily live video link.

Conway Scenic Railroad


Enjoy an old-fashioned railroading experience as you journey on historic rail routes in vintage passenger cars from the 1874 train station in North Conway Village to either Conway or Bartlett and back again during the winter months with departures at 11:30 and 1:30 Saturday & Sunday. Come spring, summer and fall, travel through Crawford Notch and the mountains.

Cog Railroad


The beauty of the mountains and the thrill of ascending the Northeast’s highest peak are just as enchanting today as they were in 1869, when Sylvester Marsh opened the world’s first mountain-climbing railroad on New Hampshire’s Mount Washington. The Mount Washington Cog Railway provides a sense of adventure and history as it carries passengers up a 3-mile-long trestle and the steepest railroad tracks in North America to the 6,288-foot summit of Mount Washington.

Mount Washington Auto Road: Snow Coach


Winter brings a whole new set of sights and sounds to the Mount Washington Auto Road: the crisp mountain air, the crystal blue skies, the soft crunch of new snow. And, the best way to experience it is the one-of-a-kind SnowCoach.  – a specially constructed all-wheel drive, 4-track vehicle to take you to the world above tree line for a truly unforgettable experience.

SnowCoach tours are approximately 1¼ hour long and depart daily from December through March from Great Glen Trails base lodge at the base of Mt. Washington on a first come, first served basis.
